D7.4b Business Case Scenarios
The aim of the document is to describe business case scenarios for the stakeholders of the outcome of the PEPPOL project, and the benefits of Business Cases as key component of the “marketing kit” (see below). We need to rely on sound and concrete examples showing benefits to join the PEPPOL community. We will focus to specific actions with the HOBs to collect description of more Business cases that witness the successful use of PEPPOL.
The aim of the document is to describe business case scenarios for the stakeholders of the outcome
of the PEPPOL project, and the benefits of Business Cases as key component of the ―marketing kit‖
(see below). We need to rely on sound and concrete examples showing benefits to join the PEPPOL
community. We will focus to specific actions with the HOBs to collect description of more Business
cases that witness the successful use of PEPPOL. The following main following stakeholders were
identified, as key enablers for convincing and increasing PEPPOL community of users:
- Contracting Authorities (CA): These are public procurement agencies from all areas of the public sector. For example: hospitals (Health Care sector which is identified as a main focus
for PEPPOL) with Bergen Hospital and Centre Hospitalier de BORDEAUX, municipalities (like
the City of Bremen) or Public Authorities (like Conseil général de l’Aube). - Economic Operators (EO): These are the suppliers of the Contracting Authorities and we have
to focus on SMEs to ease their business on an European basis with interoperable ICT tools. - Service providers/ICT industry: There are different roles of the ICT industry within the PEPPOL context. On the one hand there are service providers like Value Added Network providers (VANS) who act as operators for the PEPPOL transport infrastructure. They provide the infrastructure components for the CAs and the economic operators. On the other hand we find IT software suppliers, providing CA or EO software components to integrate or link their own IT system with the e-Procurement requirements.
