France connects to PEPPOL

by Wawra, Mike created on 23/11/2011 05:55

Adetef, the French agency of the Ministries for the Economy, Budget and Sustainable Development, invites the international press and French political representatives to take part in the event “France connects to PEPPOL” on December 12th, 2011 to discuss the role of PEPPOL for French suppliers. The press meeting will take place from 14:30 to 17:30 at the Centre Pierre Mendès France.

Following the successful Ministerial eGovernment conference, held in Poznan on 17 and 18 November 2011, where PEPPOL and the other EC supported large scale pilot projects played an important role, the French government decided to announce their commitment and progress made to speed up PEPPOL adoption. “We are pleased to see the French partners reaching an important milestone in the PEPPOL developments”, says André Hoddevik, PEPPOL Project Director.

At the event “France connects to PEPPOL”, ten key French players will announce PEPPOL as an innovative solution for cross-border eProcurement that will open new doors to substantial economic markets for French companies. This will contribute to the French presidential plan to boost the national economy by easing access to public procurement for SMEs.

With PEPPOL, France aims to benefit from best practices, for example the Danish experience where the majority of invoices are now electronic, together with several other European countries implementing competitive eProcurement solutions based on PEPPOL.
