The PEPPOL work package on eSignatures (WP1) shall pilot solutions for validation of eIDs and e-signatures used across borders in Europe. In WP1, Bremen online services (bos) develops software that will be used in PEPPOL pilots. In addition to this, and in accordance with WP1 plans, Difi will explore the alternative of utilising commercial validation services in the market for the validation task.
Consequently, Difi has placed a call in the market for a validation service provider that will be offered a position as subcontractor to Difi/Norway in PEPPOL, providing its services potentially to any PEPPOL participant. The call was launched 28 October 2010 and the closing date for submitting tenders is 13 December 2010. The call has been published on Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) as well as on the Norwegian portal Doffin.
The validation service must be offered according to the specifications in PEPPOL's Deliverable D1.3, which will also ensure that the service is interoperable with bos' solutions. Together these approaches shall ensure a successful demonstrator on how e-signatures can be used across borders in Europe, using public procurement as the case study.
