Implementation and Support Unit (ISU) helps organisations to get started with PEPPOL
The Pilot Implementation and Support Unit of PEPPOL (ISU) has been established as a dedicated, professional support team available to assist those who are already implementing PEPPOL and running pilots, as well as those who are willing to connect.
A new Italian participant for PEPPOL
As a result of the positive development of PEPPOL and the important role of Italy in the project, the Authority for the Supervision of Public Contracts for works, services and supplies (AVCP) decided to take part in the initiative. AVCP is going to participate in PEPPOL, focusing on the Virtual Company Dossier component, leveraging on standardisation developments for some of its own ongoing projects – mainly those aimed at enabling the exchange of certificates for technical and financial qualification between the economic operators and the contracting authorities, exclusively based on the use of electronic means.
PEPPOL Starter Kit Launched to Spur Adoption and Ease Implementation
The first edition of a Starter Kit has been released to ease implementation of PEPPOL solutions. The Starter Kit includes information about the operational, technical and legal aspects of the PEPPOL project. In particular, it focuses on the piloting process, starting from initial engagement to implementation and conformance to the PEPPOL specifications. It will be updated regularly as needed.
Invinet Expands Opportunities for SMEs
Invinet sees a bright future for SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) looking to expand their business with public organisations in Europe. By taking advantage of standardised process automation solutions that can be implemented easily over the PEPPOL (Pan-European Public Procurement Online Project) infrastructure, Invinet believes European SMEs will be able to compete more effectively on a broader scale.
FRANCE connects to PEPPOL
At the event “France connects to PEPPOL” in Paris Bercy on December 12th, 2011, the French government affirmed their commitment to PEPPOL and demonstrated the progress achieved. Ten key French players announced the use of PEPPOL as an innovative solution for cross-border eProcurement. The conference brought together hundreds of stakeholders and PEPPOL participants, including Jean François Junger from the Directorate General for the Information Society of the European Commission, Jacques Mr Barailler, Director of Purchasing Services of the State, and Agnés Arcier, President of Adetef.

PEPPOL Demonstrates Its Role In The Digital Agenda
The Pan-European Public Procurement Online Project (PEPPOL) received an enthusiastic reception by politicians and senior representatives of the European Commission at the Borderless eGovernment Services for Europeans conference in Poznan, Poland, on the 17 and 18 of November, 2011. The conference brought together more than 800 participants from around the world, including representatives of national, regional and local administrations, the business community, NGOs and technology experts.
France connects to PEPPOL
Adetef, the French agency of the Ministries for the Economy, Budget and Sustainable Development, invites the international press and French political representatives to take part in the event “France connects to PEPPOL” on December 12th, 2011 to discuss the role of PEPPOL for French suppliers. The press meeting will take place from 14:30 to 17:30 at the Centre Pierre Mendès France.
e-Freight uses PEPPOL Transport Infrastructure for Information Exchange
The EU funded e-Freight project has selected, after investigating alternatives, the Pan-European Public Procurement Online (PEPPOL) transport infrastructure for electronic information exchange. e-Freight’s initial pilot is between DSV, a global supplier of transport and logistics solutions, and STENA Line, one of the world's largest ferry operators. The initial implementation relates to transport of goods between Gothenburg, Sweden and Germany.
PEPPOL to Showcase Progress at Poznan eGovernment Conference
17. November 2011 – The Pan-European Public Procurement Online Project (PEPPOL) will highlight recent cross-border progress made in connecting government agencies with suppliers at the Borderless eGovernment Services for Europeans conference in Poznan, Poland on the 17-18 of November, 2011. PEPPOL will be on the exhibition stand of the European Commission with the other Large Scale Pilot Projects facilitating cross-border services in Europe.

From November 8th to 9th, 2011, the “Moderner Staat”, the most important exhibition and congress with regard to eGovernment in the German speaking world, took place in Berlin. PEPPOL used this opportunity to present its vision and progress to political, economic and public sector representatives.

This year’s event became international with government representatives from Brazil and Mexico describing e-Invoice strategies in their countries. The European Commission's aims with electronic invoicing, ePrior and the Norwegian approach was amongst the topics presented.

Easy eInvoicing for Norway’s SME’s
All suppliers selling to the Norwegian state must from next summer send their invoices electronically. One-man firms (like the local carpenter) rarely have their own eProcurement systems and need easy to use web tools where they can produce their invoices. Difi is now inviting suppliers offering web-based invoicing solutions to adapt their solutions to the Norwegian PEPPOL-enabled format for eInvoicing.
First public and private PEPPOL nodes up and running in Italy
Intercent-ER, the regional agency for the electronic markets development of Italy’s region Emilia-Romagna, and Gruppo Tesi, a leading Italian service provider and system integrator, have completed their efforts to establish the first two Access Points (APs) and Service Metadata Publishers (SMPs) in Italy, promoting their adoption during the production pilot phase.
The 6th PEPPOL conference in Stockholm
The 6th PEPPOL conference was held at Berns Salonger in Stockholm the 26th and 27th May 2011. There were about 160 visitors from 21 countries who had the opportunity to listen to how the PEPPOL project is taking its form and is spreading all over Europe.
